I am blessed by the kindness you have all given to me. Many of you express your gratitude after a great class, show your support continuously, and hold me accountable daily. You, as a student or as a friend, motivate and energize me to prepare my class and life in a way that serves myself, my students, and our community, reflecting an attitude I want you all to embody.
I cannot describe the amount of joy I experience while teaching every class. Nothing feels better than watching my students grow and challenge themselves. Each one of you are improving and changing every time I see you, both in your physical and spiritual practice. That is the best gift you can give a teacher and for that, I am already overwhelmed with gratitude.
But my students seem to go beyond that. You wonderful beings lift me up and encourage me. You allow me to be vulnerable and honest both on and off the mat. There have been trials in my life this past year that you have carried me through. I can remember days when I nearly refused to get out of my car to go teach a class, but I knew you are waiting for me so I picked myself up to go and lead. But, you end up leading me every single time. You have offered me a place to be myself, a place to find comfort, and call home. I stand on my mat in front of my students and everything is going to be okay. YOU have given me that. I am grateful for you.
I try and thank you all as often as I can, but it will never be enough. In honor of Thanksgiving this week, I hope you can truly hear my words and know how much I mean them. I have the greatest tribe surrounding me, guiding me, and loving me. I feel like I can't even find the right words to express how I feel, but I hope a sincere THANK YOU can be felt deep in your heart.
Love you all!
